Insert type

Feature

Our roller cutters are basically made to order, so we specially design and manufacture the cutting edge, mounting part, and saddle shape after meeting with the customer.
If there is a request when designing a new cutter, we can create a product model in 3D and let the customer check the finished image.

The hard material used in our products is a tungsten carbide particle rigid material developed in-house for lock bits, and its excellent wear resistance is highly evaluated by customers who use it.
Furthermore, by using a reinforced hard type as an option, it is possible to greatly extend the cutting edge life compared to standard products.

Basically, we use floating seals (metal seals), but when it is difficult to apply them due to space, we use rectangular seals developed in-house.
Compared to O-rings, this seal has a more flexible tightening allowance and has the advantage that rubber sagging is less likely to occur even when used for a long time. In addition, it can follow the cutter oscillation to a certain extent, which is effective in extending the life of the bearing.

What is the Hard Facing type?

The life of the cutting edge is often due to protruding inserts due to wear of the cutter base metal, rather than to the wear of the insert itself.
Exposed chips have reduced retention, leading to defects and falling off.

As shown in the reference photo below, our hard-reinforced type dramatically increases the cutting edge life by minimizing the exposure of the base metal around the insert, making it possible to drill longer distances.
